                                 Converted Bloodletters from Beastmen Bestigors.

This Unit of 21 converted Bloodletters is made mainly out of Bestigor bodies with Bloodletter heads. It was the 3rd unit of Bloodletters that I started (and latter finished). I wanted to created Bloodletters wearing heavy armour and I was not so confident in my converting skills at this stage of my life. I saw the Beastmen Herds as my answer.

                                                          Converted Bloodletter Champion
                                             Converted Bloodletter Standard Bearer
                                                 Converted Bloodletter Musician

I originally was going to have the Bloodletters with their Hell Blades, but I changed my mind after converting the first Bloodletter (below). I didn't like the look of the longer arms on the Beastmen bodies and the choice of shoulder armour (from some 40k set). So I decided to keep the Bestigor Axes.

                                                                  3rd Rank

I did not like the Hoofed feet of the Bestigors so made a mould of the feet of a Bloodletter's foot then  I stuck it to the Bestigor's hoof, so that they still all retained the Bloodletters clawed toes.

3 of the 21 Converted Bloodletters from Beastmen Bestigors are not using Bestigor bodies, they are just Bloodletters with Bestigor axes and armour made from moulds.

This Bloodletters armour was made from a mould of a Daemon Prince's face.

This Converted Bloodletter with Axe and severed head (above) uses the original Bloodletter feet that I cut off  the legs and stuck on.

Blue Bloodletters with converted horns and armour.

This unit of 24 Bloodletters was the second unit that I worked on and was experimented on alot. I decided to see what a Bloodletter would look like not painted in red, so I used cool blues and purples. I was happy with the result and decided to make a second unit of Bloodletters. I look back on my painting skills of this time and I can see so many mistakes and things I would do differently, but I wouldn't change them, it's nice to see progression.

I also wanted to make my Bloodletters of this unit look completely different, besides individualising them with armour (that I had done in my first red unit) I saw the horns as the spot to convert.

Blue Bloodletters with converted horns and armour.
All the converted Bloodletters in this unit use Bestigor horns.

The leg armour for this one is made from plastic tube, the arms from greenstuff and a mould from the Tomb Kings Skeleton Warriors and the belt from a skull mould.

This is the unit's Champion, he wields a sword from the Bloodcrushers kit. The Shoulder armour from the Marauders kit. His body and leg armour was a real experiment.

I used a mould from the trumpet of the Tomb Gaurd and removed the green stuff when it was still soft and added to Bloodletters legs, I'd like to think it's a molten metal, constantly moving and screaming with the souls of dead enemies.

Another couple of Converted Bloodletters using moulds and Shoulder Armour from some 40k kit.

                                              Converted Bloodletter with Bestigor horns.

I also wanted to change the position of the arms of the Bloodletters so I experimented with some alternative poses.

And finally when the unit was finished I had to make the Banner, and of course I wanted it to look different and seeing how I used Bestigor horns I choose to use their Banner.

Cold Ones converted into Flesh Hounds of Khorne, with Bloodletter riders.

Cold Ones converted into Fleshhounds of Khorne, with Bloodletter riders.
I liked the idea of a Daemon Army of Khorne having a Bloodletter light cavalry, since it didn't exist I decided to create my own and use them as Flesh Hounds of Khorne.

Because the Flesh Hounds do not have the Killing blow rule I replaced the Bloodletters Hell Blade with Halberds from the Tomb Gaurd kit.

The Legs of the Bloodletters are all from the Blood Crushers kit, the legs looked so much better than the usual Bloodletter legs atop of the Cold Ones/Flesh Hounds.
